Embracing Life's Changes

Hey Y’all!

Welcome back and happy *insert day you’re reading this on here*! I’m glad you’re back for another week and another quick read. This time around I want to talk to you about what feels like the picture of what my life is like this year. A season of change that feels like it doesn’t come to an end. A lot of people are creatures of habit who don’t know how to embrace change but let’s see what the Word says.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 AMPC To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven:

Changing Factors

After that verse in Ecclesiastes you can find it naming a number of circumstances that have a time and place. Change is not a bad thing but it is about the kind of changes you’re making, why, and of course the changes you have no control over. The important thing is that when you are in the perfect will of God you know your steps are being ordered by Him! Be open to the changes in life and make sure you’re in the Word. When you are sustained by the Word the uncertainties of life won’t seem daunting because you have a firm foundation understanding that the Lord has your back better than anyone.

Now when YOU have to make a grown up decision and decide certain things for yourself you also have to treat it with the same attention to the Word but truly be prayed up as well. Pray always but there are certain changes that really do change the course of life. It could be moving out of your hometown, a new job, an opportunity, etc. It could also be deciding if a relationship is right for you or if a friend is a bad influence you need to cut out. Everything around you affects your day to day but there are things that can affect you forever so pray about the big decisions.

Jesus The Same

Whenever you put the Lord first and go to Him you can’t fail! Hebrews 13:8 AMPC says this, “Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).” In a world of inconsistency Christ is our solid rock. We can run to Him. In James it says if you need wisdom to ask Him and that He gives wisdom liberally. The key to embracing change in life is understanding that Jesus is unchanging! When you know that you are standing on a firm foundation nothing can knock you over, even the greatest changes. Nothing is more special than knowing at the end of every day and at the start of every new day we can lean on the Lord for whatever we need and that He’s the sustainer of our lives.

It’s Going To Be Okay

Whatever you are going through or whatever you may come across remember that it’s going to be okay because the Lord doesn’t lead you into failure. He’s a great author and some things happen because we’ve made choices for the plot we shouldn’t have made but the Lord makes the crooked path straight. Make good choices, embrace what’s happening, and smile because at the end there is always victory and rest.

Till Next Time,
